Moments move past in a rapid stream
pulling me under, dragging me down
drawing me deeper and deeper to darker dreams
fighting and urging myself back
clawing up against the current so dark
drawing breath as I break through the mirrored surface
sense afire, tears burn my eyes
clouding my vision, as my sight begins to die
blurring and fading all that I see
leaving a mark, spiderwebbed eyes
can't take the past that means so much to me
wondering about the future
so many moments yet to come
ready to drown me once again
however I am not done learning how to swim
draw me down once more
I will shall rise up to clarity
where the light is not dim
The image above captures the blurring of my vision after a bad bacterial infection. It came on rapidly and in a day left me with a cataract in my left eye. The infection is slowly coming under control, however it is spreading to my right eye. Rather than cry about how unfair life is, I choose to be positive and take this a challenge and learn from it.
