Shuttered eyes and the light drains away
Darkness takes control in the absence of colour
Lighting flashes of blue and gray
Shatter the quiet I seek behind
Barriers of flesh, so very thin
No rest found in my templed mind
Won't let the light in
Can't open the shutters
Rather fill the dark on the lightning's whim
Grasping, forming, taking shape
Pulling memories and song
Where the darkness once gaped
My sanctuary is lit from within
Rather than without
I provide the music, light the candles
As my soul comes out
