I enjoyed the rapid development of Ruth’s character as she moved through the book, revealing to the reader that under her harsh business armour, she had a softer human side that was often pressed down by achieving results within her role as the HR Manager. It would have been good to get to know the other characters a bit more and explore them as a reader, though as the focus was primarily on Ruth and her journey, the author can be forgiven. The other characters that exist within the book offer tantalising glimpses of well formed characters, though due rapid movement of the plot, the reader is only offered that.
The concept of Heaven and Hell as earthly incorporations and that primary office holders are Angels is truly intriguing. Those that work within big corporations, or associate with them can easily relate to the books especially the professional driven Nature of Ruth. Ruthless creates opportunities for examining further inter-office plays, policies and procedural overhead that plague most companies but with the added spin of action fantasy.
Apart from the fleeting character development, Ruthless is a well written book that introduces to world author has created and as you approach the end of the book, leaves you hanging and wanting for more. I must admit I am keenly awaiting the next release and getting to know the world better and explore the primary characters a a lot more. Please please write more!!!!
Ruthless is available from Amazon and other various online bookstores.
